Except cars wont go away while there is oil to burn and developers to pressure cities to build roads to shopping malls. We need to be wacked by climate change before we act. Look at the remnants of other civilizations. Its gonna be quick when it comes.

Hopefully it will only be a few years before most cars have an electric assist motor, like the Civic I think it is, so that all low speed driving (traffic lights/jams, parking station exit crawling, etc) will be all electric powered.
 
You can help by not buying a new car, well not just yet anyway. See how fast manufacturers respond. Not betting they will be in time tho.</description>
